RAOA Contest Cancellation and Postponement Compensation Policy

  1. Cancellation Prior to Departure: If a contest is canceled before the official has departed for the contest site, no compensation will be issued.

  2. Cancellation En Route: If a contest is canceled while the official is en route to the contest site, no compensation will be issued.

  3. Cancellation Upon Arrival (Pre-Contest): If an official arrives at the contest site and the contest is canceled prior to its start, the official shall receive one-half of the contracted game fee, plus mileage.

  4. Suspension After Start: Once a contest has started, the official shall receive the full contracted game fee, plus mileage, regardless of whether the contest is played to completion.

  5. Postponement and Rescheduling: If a contest is postponed and rescheduled for a future date, officials assigned to the original contest date shall receive the full contracted game fee, plus mileage.

  6. Baseball/Softball Rescheduling Exception: If a rescheduled baseball or softball contest is added to a previously scheduled game (e.g., as part of a doubleheader), each umpire shall be compensated for the rescheduled portion at a rate of $10 per inning played. The total compensation for the rescheduled portion shall not exceed a full game fee.

About RAOA

Rochester Area Officials Association (RAOA) trains, mentors, and assigns high school officials in the sports of Baseball, Basketball, Football, Softball and Volleyball.

 

With over 250 members, RAOA was established in Rochester, MN in 1950 and is a member of the Minnesota State High School League. RAOA provides officials to high schools through out Southern Minnesota.

 

Over our proud history, RAOA has had many members assigned to Minnesota State Championship games as well as those who moved up to officiate in the NCAA.

Mission

The Mission of the Rochester Area Official Association (RAOA) is to assist members in becoming better athletic officials.

RAOA will accomplish this goal through clarification and interpretation of rules and promoting efficient and standard officiating techniques in football, basketball, baseball, softball and Volleyball. Each member will be involved in the following :

  • Instructional Meetings

  • Professionalism

  • Promoting Sportsmanship
